Welcome to the FUCHSBAU Mountain Restaurant
Since 2001, our mountain restaurant has been a place for meeting, enjoyment, and warmth – high up in the breathtaking scenery of the Brandnertal valley. Founded and lovingly run by Susi and Guido, a new chapter began in December 2025: their son Marco and daughter-in-law Stefanie took over the FUCHSBAU with great passion and fresh ideas.
Look forward to genuine Austrian hospitality, regional delicacies and a breathtaking view.
The BERGRESTAURANT FUCHSBAU (also Skihütte Fuchsbau) is located at the middle station of the newly built Loischkopf cable car in the Bürserberg / Brandnertal ski and hiking area.

Restaurant and culinary delights
Our cuisine represents alpine tradition with modern touches.
From classics like our hearty rag salad, the Wiener Schnitzel made from pork (and sometimes also veal - NEW), to sweet highlights like the Kaiserschmarrn – with us you experience the taste of the region in its most beautiful form.
From winter 2025/2026, our menu will also be enriched with new, creative dishes and modern reinterpretations. We are particularly committed to a diverse vegan cuisine that makes culinary enjoyment possible for all dietary needs.

Our opening hours are based on the operating hours of the Bürserberg/Brandnertal mountain railways.

Daily operation: 12/12/2025 – 06/04/2026
Summer 2026:
May 8th – May 10th, 2026
14.05. – 05.07.2026 Open Friday - Tuesday
Closed on Wednesdays and Thursdays (open on public holidays)
July 6 – September 6, 2026: Continuous operation without a day off.
