Nestled in the pristine nature of the Vorarlberg Alps, right on the slopes of Bürserberg in the popular Brandnertal ski and hiking area, lies the Fuchsbau mountain restaurant at 1,450 meters – a cozy spot perfect for a break after an exciting day in the mountains. Here, traditional mountain hut charm meets modern amenities, making your stay an unforgettable experience.
Susi and Guido built the Fuchsbau and made it what it is today. From winter 2025/2026, they will hand over their pride and joy to the next generation – their son Marco and daughter-in-law Stefanie.
The two place great value on sustainable management, honest products and what makes Austrian gastronomy special: genuine hospitality.
What remains? The soul of the house. What's next? New ideas, a breath of fresh air – and the same passion.

Our vision
At FUCHSBAU, we combine the beauty of the Brandnertal valley with authentic, unadulterated cuisine. We want to be a place of slowing down, where our guests can experience and taste the values of regionality, seasonality, and sustainable agriculture.
Our goal is to bring the best of the region to your plate – honest, down-to-earth, and with attention to detail. The quality of our dishes always takes precedence over quantity.
Thanks to our own organic farming, we know where our food comes from and can proudly say: A large part of what we serve grows and lives right on our doorstep.
The well-being of our animals, short transport routes, and close cooperation with regional partners form the basis of our cuisine. In this way, we create a culinary experience that is not only delicious but also in harmony with nature, people, and animals.
The FUCHSBAU is intended to be a meeting place for everyone who appreciates good food, genuine values and a connection to nature – right in the heart of the Alps.

About our suppliers
In addition to our own organic farm, the
"Bio-Landwirtschaft Zechner", we work closely with selected producers from the region.
We pay particular attention to short supply chains, transparent origins, and fair conditions. It is important to us that our partners share the same values: sustainability, respect for nature and animals, and a passion for quality.
This creates a trusting collaboration that goes far beyond mere delivery – because we know the people behind the products personally.
In this way we can guarantee our guests: Every bite at FUCHSBAU is not only delicious, but also a piece of lived regionality.
